PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically active disulfinylated thiacalix[4]arene derivative having a new optically active cage molecular skeleton and useful as a sensor, analytical reagent, analytical medium and a catalyst ligand and provide a method for producing the derivative. SOLUTION: The objective optically active disulfinylated thiacalix[4]arene derivative expressed by general formula (1) and general formula (2) (Y is H, a hydrocarbon group, a halogenated hydrocarbon group, COR2 or OR3; R2 and R3 are each H or a hydrocarbon group; and R is a hydrocarbon group) is produced by treating a thiacalix[4]arene derivative with an oxidizing agent, thereby converting two adjacent sulfide groups into sulfonyl groups. |
