PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To work with different output without enlarging a machine tool. SOLUTION: This spindle for a machine tool is provided with two rotating shafts 1 and 6 arranged in line along an axial direction and holding a tool by the rotating shaft 1, rotating driving means 2 and 7 of which output is different and rotating the rotating shafts 1 and 6, respectively, and a connection control means 40 connecting and releasing the rotating shafts 1 and 6.
