PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make backstitches through an easy operation even while a carriage is effective. SOLUTION: A control device, when detecting operation of a reverse stitching key while an embroidering device is mounted in a sewing machine frame (step S59), sets reverse stitch data by tracking embroidery data in a reverse direction. As a sewing needle is moved vertically, an embroidery frame is moved to form opposite stitches over previously formed stitches (step S60). Thus, when reverse stitching is carried out while the embroidering machine 10 is mounted in the frame, the need for sequentially operating a help key and a backstitch key on an LCD is eliminated and the reverse stitching can be carried out by the operation of the reverse stitching key located at the root of the needle, so that operability is enhanced.
