SPIKE PIN FOR TIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spike pin for a tire having excellent braking performance in traveling on an icy and snowy road and capable of preventing the generation of damage of a road surface in traveling on a normal road. SOLUTION: This spike pin for tire is formed of a flange-like base part 4 to be fixed to a bottom part of a spike pin hole 3 provided in a tread surface 2 of a tire and a pin part 5 projected from the base part 4 toward the tread surface 2. These base part 4 and the pin part 5 are made of rubber, and a ratio St/Sb between a surface area St of a tip 6 of the tread surface 2 of the pin part 5 and a cross sectional area Sb of a root 7 of the base part 4 is set at 0.2-0.8. A ratio Lt/Lb between a circumferential length Lt of the tip 6 of the tread surface 2 of the pin part 5 and a circumferential length Lb of the root of the base part is set at 0.5-1.0.
