PURPOSE: A method for forming a light guide plate of an LCD device is provided to control easily a thickness of a light guide plate and prevent thermal deformation of the light guide plate by manufacturing the light guide plate as a heatproof glass material. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(145) is formed with a material such as a heatproof glass in order to prevent thermal deformation. An optical scattering pattern(151) is formed on a front face of a lower portion of the light guide plate(145) by using a photo-lithography process. A fine diffusion pattern(161) is formed on a back face of the light guide plate(145) by using a photo-lithography process. The fine diffusion pattern(161) is used instead of an existing diffuser.
