PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction clutch having a lift strap installed on a pressure plate. SOLUTION: In this riveting method for inserting a rivet 19 having a shank 21 provided with a hollow part disposed close to a first end part 25 of the shank 21 through a hole 20 in first members 14c, 14b into a blind hole 20 in a support member 12, the first end part 25 of the shank 21 gets in contact with a bottom part 26 of the blind hole 20. The rivet 19 is then compressed toward the bottom part 26 of the hole 20 to be deformed outward into a barrel form, and the shank 21 of the rivet 19 is friction-engaged with a side part 27 of the hole 20. The side part 27 of the blind hole 20 may be provided with an undercut 28, in which case the shank 21 of the rivet 19 is deformed outward into a barrel form to substantially fill the undercut 28.
