PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent paper powder from being stuck to a density sensor in an image forming device by which a toner image on a photoreceptor is transferred to a recording medium by feeding the recording medium fed by a paper feeding roller to space between the photoreceptor and a transfer roller and the image density of a toner pattern formed on the photoreceptor is detected by a density sensor arranged so as to be opposed to the photoreceptor by holding the carrying path of the recording medium P in between. SOLUTION: The density sensor 21 and the paper feeding roller 10 are arranged so that an area W1 occupied by the density sensor 21 in the direction W of the axial line X of the photoreceptor 2 and an area W2 occupied by the paper feeding roller 10 are not overlapped in an axial direction W.
