PURPOSE: A gain compensation method is provided to discriminate a normal operation state from a transition operation state by differentiating an RPM signal and a load signal inputted to an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and to satisfy a feedback gain if the addition of the differentiated values is over a specific value. CONSTITUTION: A gain compensation method for a vehicle comprises the steps of: inputting RPM and LOAD values(S101); differentiating the RPM and LOAD values(S103); setting up G=Gs(S105); deciding if the addition of RPM increment and decrement with LOAD increment and decrement is within a predetermined range(S107); deciding a transition state if the addition value is over the predetermined range and compensating a transition gain by G=Gs+Gt(S109). According to the procedure, the amount of exhaust gas discharge is reduced.
