The device for feeding a gas-air mixture through water prior to combustion involves the mixture being fed through a flowing thin film (59) of water (17), the flow direction of which is at ninety degrees to that of the mixture. A combustion chamber (1) is connected to an exhaust gas conduit (3) and contains a heat exchanger (18) and a burner (7) provided with outflow apertures (8) for the gas-air mixture. The burner has an upwardly sealed cover (6), at the upper end of which (28) a water feed conduit (5) connected with a pump (4) forms part of a distribution device (15) for feeding water to the outside of the cover. The gas-air mixture conduit (12) feeds a mixture provision (10) in the cover, which has radially directed outflow apertures. The combustion chamber in its lower area has a trough (26), which is filled with water up to the lower edge (25) of the cover (6).
