FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL HAVING ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY AND ACTIVITY FOR INHIBITING GENERATION OF DIOXINS, AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional material excellent in antimicrobial activity, and capable of suppressing the generation of dioxins (further a chlorine-based gas indispensable to the synthesis of the dioxins having strong toxicity) formed by a thermochemical reaction such as incineration, and further to provide a composite material by using the functional material. SOLUTION: This functional material having high antimicrobial properties and the activities for suppressing the generation of the dioxins which are formed by the thermochemical reaction is characterized in that the functional material contains a lithium compound and at least one kind selected from the group constituting of dolomite and a calcined dolomite. The composite material is obtained by using the functional material.
