PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing means for a shaft, etc., formed out of a large diameter cylindrical rod and a small diameter cylindrical rod freely elongatable and contractible, and capable of surely locking them without yielding a jolt. SOLUTION: This fixing means for a long shaft, etc., formed by inserting a small diameter cylindrical rod into the inside of a large diameter cylindrical rod freely elongatably and contractibly is provided by arranging an engaging tool having a taper state projection having a taper state in the vicinity of the cylinder port part of the large diameter cylindrical rod in a shape of energizing it with an elastic material, while forming a hole for entering the tip part of the taper state projection at the small diameter cylindrical rod, capable of fixing the small diameter cylindrical rod by fitting the taper state projection into the hole of the cylindrical rod in its energized state and also capable of disengaging the fitting state of the tapered state projection by an operation of the operating tool.
