A balcony shielding device for shielding a balcony against sun rays and providing a visual shield preventing adjacent on-lookers to visually access the balcony. The balcony shielding device includes: a first and a second shielding section. A securement component is provided for securing the second shielding section to the banister directly in front of the latter. A first securement component is provided for securin g the first shielding section to the second shielding section so that the first shieldin g section is positioned above the banister. Adjustment components are provided for allowi ng adjustment of the height and angulation of the second shielding section. The second section securement components are adapted to attach the shielding device to both the handrail and the footrail of conventional balcony banisters.
