PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LD excitation solid-state laser device of high excitation efficiency by returning excitation light, which was not absorbed by a solid-state laser rod at one pass, into the laser rod highly effectively. SOLUTION: An LD excitation solid-state laser device has a transparent columnar laser rod 1, which absorbs excitation lights 6a, 6b and generates or amplifies light of a prescribed wavelength, and a transparent cooling tube 3, which is coaxial with the laser rod 1 and forms a clearance 2 for refrigerant between it and an outer surface of the laser rod 1. The laser device is arranged in an outer circumferential side of the cooling tube 3 coaxially and has a substantially tubular member 4, where a through groove 7 for providing excitation light from an excitation light source to the laser rod 1 through the cooling tube 3 is formed, and a reflection surface 14, which is provided in or near a position where excitation light emitted radially from the through groove 7 converges most through the laser rod 1, in an inner surface of the tubular member 4. The reflection surface 14 is formed as a mirror surface which practically regularly reflects excitation light which has passed through without being reflected by the laser rod 1. |
