PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manage many business cards which have been received and to enable adaptation to future changes. SOLUTION: When business cards are exchanged with a person concerned in business, business card exchange IDs specific to them are also exchanged and sent from portable telephone sets 3 to a business card management server 1 together with information showing the state of the exchange, so that they are registered. The business card management server 1 has an individual's a information database which stores user-inputted information regarding users themselves in addition to a person's information database which stores user- inputted information regarding persons with whom the users have exchanged business card exchange IDs. To browse partner's business card information, a user sends its business card exchange ID and the business card exchange ID of the person to the business card management server 1. According to the received business card exchange IDs, necessary information is extracted from the person's information data and individual's information database and sent as business card information back to the business card management client 2.
