PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reliably restore the operation of a device after electric power disconnection for a very short time without needing an auxiliary battery or a very complicated circuit. SOLUTION: This device includes a battery for supplying voltage to the device, a power disconnection detection circuit for detecting the disconnection of power supply voltage and a random access memory to which power is fed by the battery. A processor loads data into a memory. The completeness of the memory is tested to avoid reloading the data into the memory after the disconnection of electric power of the battery for a short time. When the contents of the memory are maintained as they are, the reloading the data into the memory does not have to be performed. This invention is applied to a device such as a portable radio telephone set.
