PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a local contrast mapping method, that changes the dynamic range of an original image so that a dynamic range of medium to be used for reproduction matches that of the original image more closely. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises a step maintaining a small contrast difference between different areas of the original image and a step of limiting a maximum contrast difference between the different areas of the original image. |
