When eggs are boiled in an electric egg boiler there is the risk that egg content escapes through openings in the shell and dirties the appliance. The aim of the invention is to provide easy maintenance and to easily clean the dirty components in such a case. According to prior art, the electric components (2, 6, 10, 11) cannot be easily cleaned. According to the invention, all electric components (2, 6, 10, 11) of the egg boiler are arranged above the position of the eggs (1) in such a way that essentially a nd only the mechanic components which are situated next to or below said eggs ( 1) become dirty, whereby said eggs (1) are to be boiled and said mechanic components can be removed in an advantageous manner and are optionally dish washer proof. Maintenance of an electric egg boiler is thus essentially simplified.
