Method for production of print points using point- printers or writers. Such printers are used in process-control recorders in which measurement data are printed on a recording medium that advances with time. For each measurement point two print points are produced displaced slightly on the printer paper from a virtual print coordinate that represents the actual measurement value. Positioning of the two print points is according to a mathematical inequality, where the separation of the two points is dependent on the diameter, d, of the minute circles of each printed point, such that the separation DELTA X of the two printer points is given by: /4d <= DX <= /2d.
