HOLLOW BOARD OF THERMOPLASTIC SYNTHETIC RESIN, AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORMING CLOSED EDGE SIDE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the edge side of a hollow board of thermoplastic synthetic resin into a closed edge side having a smooth surface. SOLUTION: The edge side of the hollow board of thermoplastic synthetic resin prepared by pultrusion or punching is put in a melted-softened state by heating by a contact or noncontact heating means and the edge side in the heated-melted state is brought into pressure contact with the bottom of the groove of a forming implement having the bottomed groove so that it is formed into the closed edge side having the smooth surface. The heating means for heating the edge side of the hollow board in a contact or noncontact manner and the forming implement having the bottomed groove with which the edge side of the hollow board is brought into pressure contact are disposed in front and the rear along the feeding direction of the hollow board. The contact heating means and the forming implement may also be integrated into one member.
