PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system that codes a video sequence available in a plurality of resolution levels, transmits, receives, decodes and displays the coded video sequence. SOLUTION: In this invention, a transmission node provides a macro block of available video data in the plurality of resolution levels. The transmission node codes the macro block and assigns a macro block identifier(ID) to each macro block. A receiving node receives video sequences from a plurality of the transmission nodes via a communication network. The receiving node operated according to this invention eliminates a macro block of video data not displayed such as a hidden or overlapped video parts after that. A macro block translator converts the macro block ID into a new macro block ID reflecting a position of the macro block on a display screen instructed by a window configuration of a user. Then the decoder expands data of one macro block at a time and given the expanded macro block to a frame buffer. |
