PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stopper for a door closer by which the tightening degree of serrations can be visually checked and the serrations can be reliably tighten. SOLUTION: In the external stopper A of the door closer which can maintain a door D in an opened condition at an arbitrary position by engaging a pair of serrations with each other by operating a tightening member 11, moving members 10, 16, 19 which are moved by tightening the tightening member 11 are provided, and the reliable engagement of the pair of serrations by these moving members can be visually recognized from the outside.
