The invention relates to substituted N-(indole-2-carbonyl)-beta-alaninamides derivatives having the general formula: wherein A, R1...R11 have well-defined significations, to the pharmaceutical compositions containing said derivatives and to methods of treatment. According to the invention, the claimed compounds are glycogen phosphorylase inhibitors, useful in the treatment of glycogen-phosphorylase-dependent conditions such as diabetes, hyperglycaemia, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, hyperinsulinemia, atherosclerosis and myocardial ischemia in mammals. |
