The invention relates to a martensitic stainless steel and to a process for manufacturing products made of said steel, which are employed particularly in making pipes for oil industry. The invention solves the problem of producing some metallografic constituents exhibiting a good behaviour to corrosion and relates to a kind of steel which besides C, Cr, Mn, Al also contains 0.06 to 0.12 % N, less than 0.3 % Cu, 1.5 % to 2 % Mo, 4.0 to 7.0 % Ni, where the content of Cr, Mn and N must satisfy the relation : (Cr +3.30 Mo+16N)>/=19. The semifinished product is heated at a temperature ranging from 1250 degree to 1350 degree C after the first stage of rolling and before the hot moulding.
