In a device for lifting, lowering and tilting a location surface for an instrument, this location surface is linked to a base frame via a parallel guide consisting of rocking arm and guide rod. The guide rod of the parallel guide is linked with one end to a bell-crank lever, the bottom end of which is provided with a longitudinal slot in which the eccentric of an eccentric shaft is guided, which eccentric shaft can be rotated about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the bell-crank lever and can be clamped in position. The location surface can be tilted to the front or the rear through a certain pivot angle by rotating the eccentric shaft. The device mainly serves to set up measuring and inspection instruments, in particular display units, from ergonomic aspects. <IMAGE>
