The invention relates to a driving mechanism with variable stroke capacity, employed in internal or external combustion piston engines, in compressors or in variable-delivery piston pumps, in variable capacity volumetric feeding installations and in devices with variable feed. In order to improve the power and delivery control systems, the driving mechanism with variable stroke capacity employs a crank-guide-like plane reversible mechanism which transforms the alternating rectilinear translation motion with variable stroke into a continous rotational motion, the sense of transformation depending on the machine employed, derived from a centred plane mechanism having one translation coupler and three rotary couplers with e=0, where the translation coupler transmits the motion by means of a convex or convex-concave rhomboidal gear, comprising three rotation couplers and two translation couplers located in the apices of a deformable rhomb with lateral sliding blocks having adjustable sliding directions.
