ANTIOXIDANT SEPARATED FROM LAURUS NOBILIS LEAVES AND METHOD FOR PURIFICATION THEREOF

PURPOSE: A natural antioxidant extracted from an extract of Laurus nobilis leaves and process for purifying the same are provided, which can be used as material for functional food and processing foods and can prevent acidification of lipid in food and inhibit ageing by peroxidation of lipid of cell membrane in vivo. CONSTITUTION: The antioxidant having alkyl phenoxy radical scavenging activity contains an extract of Laurus nobilis leaves as an effective component, wherein the extract is obtained by extracting Laurus nobilis with methanol or methanol and/or chloroform and ethyl acetate successively and purifying with an absorption chromatography.
