PURPOSE: A heat insulation structure for pulse tube refrigerator is provided to achieve an improved to achieve an enhanced sealed state of the shell cover, while reducing space occupation of refrigerator by disposing orifices to the compression unit side. CONSTITUTION: A pulse tube refrigerator includes a compression unit(P) for pumping a working gas, and which has a pre-cooler(1), a regenerator(2), a cold side heat exchanger(3), a pulse tube(4), a hot side heat exchanger(5), a first orifice(21A) and a second orifice(21B) functioning as a phase controller, and a storage container(7) which are installed in the compression unit. The phase controller constituted by orifices is communicated to an end of the hot side heat exchanger, and sealed into a heat insulating vacuum shell(100) together with the regenerator and the pulse tub. The first orifice is pre-arranged at the outlet side of the cold side heat exchanger, and the second orifice is pre-arranged at a shell plate(110) and communicated to the first orifice prior to the assembly of shell cover.
