PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize triarylalkyl borate from an inexpensive and stable substance without synthesizing an alkylmetal reagent separately. SOLUTION: This method for producing the triarylalkyl borate of the general formula (5) is provided by reacting a mixture of boron complex compound of the general formula (1) with an alkali (alkaline earth) metal with an aryl halide of the general formula (2) to synthesize a triarylborane of the general formula (3), or reacting the above complex compound with an arylmetal reagent of the general formula (6) or (7) to synthesize the above triarylborane, adding an alkali (alkaline earth) metal before or after the above synthesis, and then reacting the reaction system with an alkyl halide of the general formula (4).
