PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting system for airport baggage with a simple system capable of significantly reducing a cost by reducing the total number of bar-code reader. SOLUTION: This sorting system for the airport baggage has a main sorter 30 sorting a plurality pieces of baggage 10 thrown through a designated throwing part on the basis of a barcode on each piece of hand baggage 10, wherein a first bar-code reader part 31 is provided in a throwing part 211 and a second bar-code reader part 32 is provided in the main sorter 30. The barcode on the hand baggage 10 is read from each different direction of the throwing part 211 and the main sorter 30, and the hand baggage 10 is sorted on the basis of the read result.
