PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet body feeder capable of optically scanning a sheet body fed in an appropriate atitude with small size and low costs in a sheet body feeder sub-scanning and sub-feeding while optically scanning sheet bodies in cluding a sensitive material. SOLUTION: This sheet body feeder comprises a first sub-scanning and feeding means disposed on the upstream side of an optical scanning position and a second sub-scanning and feeding means disposed on the downstream side thereof sub-scanning and feeding a sheet body in a transfer direction generally perpendicular to a one-dimensional direction while optically scanning the sheet body in the one-dimensional direction at the optical scanning position, a transfer and supply means transferring and supplying the sheet body to the first sub- scanning and feeding means, and a sheet body tip position correction means provided in a transfer route for the transferring and supplying means and the first sub-scanning and feeding means and positioning the tip of the sheet body.
