COLD CATHODE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode display apparatus for allowing the suppression of adhesion of a gas emitted from the inside of a phosphor to a cold cathode chip for indication and luminescence in outgas treatment and for providing good current discharge characteristics even after outgas treatment, as well as its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The cold cathode display apparatus comprises a front panel with a phosphor formed on it and a rear panel consisting of a cold cathode and a gate electrode for forming an electric field around the cold cathode and having an electron source for discharging an electron toward the front panel. On the back rear there are formed a first electron source for discharging electrons which excite the phosphor to generate light and a second electron source for discharging electrons that collide with the front panel to cause a gas to be emitted from the front panel. The first electron source is disposed around the second electron source.
