PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for document retrieval which can support users while taking groups into consideration and carry out reretrieval while directly and efficiently excluding unnecessary retrieval results by the groups. SOLUTION: A retrieval gateway which presents retrieval results presents not only cited page data which are grouped like before, but also pages which belong to the same groups and are hit by retrieval and presents the link relation between group to assist adequacy decision making by users. A retrieval server which performs retrieval (reretrieval) by using a deletion indicating means which is provided by the retrieval gateway and excludes a specific group from retrieval objects to delete pages belonging to the specific group together from subsequent retrieval results (or retrieval object) at a time at the time of reretrieval when a user instructs the deletion of the specific group.
