PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back projection type screen which is great in a scintillation lessening effect by minimizing the side effects, such as the deterioration of resolving power and the degradation in efficiency, which arise if high diffusivity is imparted to a Fresnel lens sheet in order to sufficiently lessen the scintillation which occurs because of the sharp directivity of projected light with the conventional back projection type display using a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: Light diffusive particles 512 to be dispersed into a lenticular lens sheet 5 are formed to ellipsoidal bodies of revolutions. As a result, the concentration of rays near to foci when light having high directivity is made incident is relieved and the scintillation is lessened.
