PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a premix compression self-ignition engine capable of discharging exhaust gas having little unburnt component by reducing the unburnt component in the exhaust gas. SOLUTION: A premix compression self-ignition engine to discharge exhaust gas HG after combustion to an exhaust passage 7 by burning premixture of air and fuel by compressing and self-igniting it in a combustion chamber 14 surrounded by a cylinder 12 and a piston 13 is furnished with an unburnt component oxidization device 2 to oxidize, burn and treat the unburnt component in the exhaust gas HG by an oxidizing catalyst in the exhaust passage 7 and a heating means 3 to heat the exhaust gas HG supplied to the unburnt component oxidizing device 2 with treated gas SG oxidized, burnt and treated by the unburnt component oxidization device 2 as a heat source.
