PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent derailing of the sliding doors of a refrigerator or the like; to lightly open and close the sliding doors with little resistance; to greatly reduce the wear of rails and rollers for preventing derailing; to increase durability; to cope with even small or lightweight sliding doors; to fabricate vertically elongate sliding doors of small width; and to attach handles to the lower portions of the doors. SOLUTION: A device for preventing derailing of the sliding doors has a projection 7 provided on the outer surface of the door pulley travel rail 3 of the refrigerator 1 or the like along the overall length of the rail 3. The roller 15 for preventing derailing is attached to the inner surface of each door hanger 11 of the sliding doors 10, with the roller 15 being located near the underside of the projection 7 and colliding against the lower surface of the projection 7 when a door sheave 12 floats up.
