PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of accurately adjusting a position measuring device, obtaining an optimum operating state, and also usable for verious purposes, and provide a position measuring device. SOLUTION: In this device, an adjustment amount value necessary for control of an output signal to a constant signal amplitude is continuously calculated and is converted into a digital signal suitable for digital transmission. The digital signal concerning the adjustment amount value is sequentially transmitted to electronic equipment disposed after the position measuring device and is displayed. The transmitted adjustment amount value is used as a standard for an actual scanning distance. The adjustment amount value can be utilized for adjustment of a preset optimum scanning distance or is estimated as a standard for a function state of the position measuring device. |
