<p>A device for pointing a position on a display screen, a program and a detecting method of a pointing device, in which pointing information is collected by recognizing the scanning system of a display and performing a processing depending on the determined scanning system. A photosensor (18) provided in the pointing device detects the scanning light of a display (140) and produces an optical sensing signal. When the optical sensing signal contains the frequency component of a horizontal synchronizing signal in a double density scanning display, an operating method recognizing section (30) recognizes that the scanning method of the display is not a standard scanning method but a double density scanning method.</p> |
