<p>PURPOSE: A ceramic composition made from waste materials and its preparation method are provided, to recycle the waste materials effectively without exhausting heavy metals and causing the environmental pollution. CONSTITUTION: The ceramic composition comprises 5-75 parts by weight of a solid-stated waste material including heavy metals; 15-45 parts by weight of fly ash; 5-55 parts by weight of clay; and optionally 5-15 parts by weight of aluminium dross. The waste material is selected from electric arc furnace (EAF) dust, steel making slag, paper ash and their mixtures. The method comprises the steps of mixing the composition to prepare a homogeneous slip; forming the slip to obtain a shaped body; crying the shaped body; and sintering the shaped body.</p> |
