PURPOSE: A handsfree device for mobile stations and a method for using the same are provided to improve appearance by attaching a character to the necklace string of a handsfree device and embedding a transmitter, a microphone and a magnet in the character and to make the handsfree device handy to carry about by simplifying feeders other than the necklace string. CONSTITUTION: A handsfree device(100) is comprised of a plug(101), a switch(102), a microphone(103), an earphone(107), an elastic body(108), an electric wire(106), a necklace string(104), an earphone hanger(105), and a snap locker(109). The plug(101) is inserted into the voice input-output jack of a mobile station. The switch(102) is to transmit a telephone receiving signal to the processor of the mobile station when a telephone access signal is received from the receiver of the mobile station. The microphone(103) is provided to input the user's voice after the telephone receiving signal is transmitted to the processor. The earphone(107) outputs a digital signal, transmitted from the codec of the mobile station, into a voice analog signal so that the user can recognize it as a voice. The elastic body(108) having the switch(102) and the microphone(103) is formed so as to be expressed in a required shape. The electric wire(106) is connected to the earphone(107) and the plug(101). The necklace string(104), of which both ends are connected to the elastic body(108), conceals the wire(106) partially. The earphone hanger(105) contains a magnet to install the earphone(107) at a given location. The snap locker(109) connects the mobile station and the handsfree device(100).
