PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an acrylic filament knitted or woven fabric, by which the morphological strains generated in the knitted or woven fabric by the differences and changes in tensions on the production of the acrylic filament knitted or woven fabric can be removed to industrially stably produce the high quality acrylic filament knitted or woven fabric not containing a pirn barre and a warp streak. SOLUTION: This method for treating the acrylic filament knitted or woven fabric, characterized by immersing the acrylic filament-containing knitted or woven fabric in the aqueous solution of an acrylic fiber solvent and then subjecting the fabric to a fabric-rubbing treatment and a thermal treatment at the same time.
