PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a method for decomposing a hydrocarbon having a high molecular weight, which is an environmental polluting material contained in a crude oil, at a high temperature in a good efficiency. SOLUTION: This method for decomposing a hydrocarbon having a high molecular weight which is a harmful material, is provided by using new microorganisms Bacillus thermoleovorans B23 strain and Bacillus thermoleovorans H41 strain, belonging to the genus Bacillus thermoleovorans and growing under a high temperature organic solvent condition and decomposing alkanes.
