SCALE SUPPRESSION METHOD FOR REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale suppression method which is capable of suppressing the calcium scale generated on the surface of a raw water side membrane of a reverse osmosis treatment, maintaining a permeate quantity and making stable operation. SOLUTION: This scale suppression method for the reverse osmosis membrane surface consists in adding a copolymer containing >=1 kind of organic phosphoric acids selected from aminotri (methylene sulfonic acid), diethylene triaminepenta- methylene sulfonic acid and their water-soluble metal salts and acrylic acid and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid and/or their water-soluble metal salts as indispensable constitution units to the raw water of the reverse osmosis membrane.
