The invention concerns a method for treating wood aggregate used for making a cement-based composite, using anhydrous calcium oxide or quick lime in powder form incorporated in the wood aggregate for filling up the wood pores. The hydration of quick lime produces an exothermal reaction reducing moisture, with subsequent reinforcement of the wood hardness after the pores have cooled and closed up as the quick lime is transformed into slack lime. |
