Grate plate and its fabrication process

The grid plate provides a controlled gas distribution into a gravity fed material flow eg. in cement manufacture. The abrasive material flows over a grid plate (6) which is made of abrasion resistant steel, or is coated with an abrasion resistant layer. Slots (7) in the grid plate distribute the gas flow into the material for a good heat exchange effect. The grid plate is supported on a frame (5) with inner reinforcing ribs. The reinforcing ribs of the support frame are L-shaped with their upper edges supporting the underside of the grid plate and with their profiles forming gas ducts to the gas slots. The grid plate is easily replaced when worn.
