PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent chips in a circular saw from being scattered. SOLUTION: In the circular saw wherein a gear case (8) for supporting sawteeth (7), a surface plate (9) arranged below the gear case, a supporter (10) for connecting a front part of the gear case to the surface plate and a guide plate (11) for connecting a rear part of the gear case to the surface plate are provided; and the gear case is connected to the supporter via a first fulcrum (21) for allowing the gear case to pivot vertically along the guide plate on the surface plate, and the supporter and the guide plate are connected to the surface plate via second fulcrums (20, 25) for slanting the sawteeth and the gear case to the surface plate; projections (28, 29) for preventing the chips from being scattered are provided near the first fulcrum at one side or both sides of the gear case and the supporter.
