PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reproducing a strongly acidic cation exchange resin-packed tower of a single bed-type in a sugar solution purification unit, capable of effectively removing suspended matter accumulated in a resin layer of the tower where a starch sugar solution is treated. SOLUTION: This method for reproducing the strongly acidic cation exchange resin-packed tower in the sugar solution purification unit comprises introducing air into the strongly acidic cation exchange resin-packed tower of the single bed-type 2 from an air-inlet 20 to mix the resin layer 4 with the air, charging water into the tower from a backwashing water-inlet 16, fluidizing to backwash the resin layer, and further charging the resin layer with a reproduction chemical solution (such as, a hydrochloric acid solution) from a distributor 8 so that the solution downward flows throught the resin layer.
