PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film cassette for an endoscope which has plural kinds of means to be discriminated. SOLUTION: This film cassette 2 is provided with a resistance film 9 as a means to be discriminated for making its film information by its resistance value R in contact with two contacts in a camera main body and the resistance film 9 is connected to a resistance with a reference resistance value. The resistance value R is detected with a value obtained by dividing a specific voltage to electrically discriminate corresponding film information with the detected resistance value R and also detect a film unloaded state. A film information part 25 is formed by providing groove parts whose number corresponds to the film information at an engagement part 24a at the tip of an engagement shaft for the film winding of a film winding part 7 and the engagement part 24a is set between a light emission unit and a light reception unit arranged on the camera main body side; and the frequency of transmission of a light beam received by the light reception part through the groove parts when the engagement part 24a is rotated is optically detected and the film information can be discriminated with the number of times.
