PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission during low load driving while suppressing a disturbance of an intake airflow, a rise in cost, and an increase in intake air resistance. SOLUTION: This exhaust recirculation device for an internal combustion engine comprises; an EGR valve 28 for opening/closing an EGR passage 26 communicating an intake passage 12 downstream to a compressor 16 and an exhaust passage 14 upstream to a turbine 18; an intake air throttle valve 34 arranged upstream to the compressor 16, and throttling intake air introduced through the intake passage 12; a load sensor 38 and a rotational speed sensor 40 respectiveiy detecting a load L and a number N of revolutions of an engine as an engine operating state; and a control unit 30 for opening the EGR passage 26 with the EGR valve 28 and throttling the intake air with the intake air throttle valve 34 by a software means, when the detected engine operating stage is in an EGR area. |
