PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator for business use which is able to keep freshness of food during storage for a long period of time. SOLUTION: A refrigerator compartment 10 consists of a three-layer structure in which an insulating layer 3' is disposed between an outer wall 1' consisting of stainless steel plates and an inner wall 2' constituted with resin plates. A shelf support 20 made of a conductive material is disposed on the inner wall 2'. Further, metallic shelf plates 19 are fixed to the shelf support 20. The shelf support 20 is connected to one end of an A.C. constant current high-voltage power supply 21 of which the other end is connected to the outer wall 1' so as to generate a magnetic field (e) between the outer wall 1' and the shelf plates 19. Thus, by concentrating the electric field (e) by static electricity on the shelf plates 19, freshness of food in the compartment is maintained for a long period of time.
