PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably judge a dot area and to detect the number of dot lines even in the dot part of a small area such as a net character with the method of less processing quantity on a dot having periodicity. SOLUTION: The noticed block of an L×L pixel size with a noticed pixel as a center is cut (1). The reference area of the ((L+2K)×(L+2K)) pixel size is cut (2). The similarity of the noticed block and a block in a position where the noticed block is shifted by the prescribed number of pixels in a reference area is calculated (3). The peak of similarity is obtained (4) and it is judged whether the area is a dot area based on the distribution of peaks. When it is the dot, the number of dot lines is detected based on the peak in the shortest distance from the center (5). |
